2020-08-23: Day 13 Linz – Wallsee (68km, total: 1037km)

My wife and I went to the beautiful Mariendom in Linz. Here we met some of the „Swiss“ group, I saw the days before (except yesterday).

Afterwards we biked to the sister of my aunt and here husband. They live just 7km from Linz away. We enjoyed a good time and a delicious lunch at their place. They accompanied us back to the Danube.

We visited Enns, the oldest city of Austria. Directly after Enns we crossed the longest roundwood bridge of Europe with 88m (but it wasn‘t as special as it sounds).

While travelling to Wallsee a wall of rain came closer and closer. First we hoped to reach our goal before the rain, but the clouds were faster and six kilometers before Wallsee, it started to rain. Luckily a chapel was at the road with a shelter and we stayed dry. The chapel was built in the country because the farmers close by couldn‘t hear the church bells why they asked to build this chapel.

The rain stopped, we enjoyed a nice rainbow and pedalled to Wallsee where we got a very good pulled pork burger. We also toasted to 1000km I biked during the last 13 days.
