In the morning I had to repair my bike. It was Sunday and I couldn‘t just go to a bike shop. After some time I managed to fix the chain. Unfortunately something is still wrong with my back brake. The disc brake touches the edge of the brake holder. It is not where the brake blocks are and therefore even if it touches slightly and give some annoying sound while driving, it is still possible to brake. At 12:30 I decide to leave the problem for the moment.
The people of the hotel in Munderkingen were very friendly and helpful. They advised some alternative route that is more beautiful and with less hills. I am not sure if I took their described route. At least it was shorter because it didn‘t go into Ehingen. In Ersingen (funny fact: first stage was through Ersigen in Switzerland) I took a schnitzel with French fries. The path was now flat and I made good progress. I reached Ulm and visited the famous minster. With 161m it is the highest church tower of the world. The tower just closed and I couldn‘t go up. But since I was already in Ulm and I was on the tower, it wasn‘t that bad. The minster itself is anyway very impressive.
The kilometers of the bike route before and after Ulm were very nice, directly at the Danube. In Riedheim (close to Leipheim) I camp. A swim in the warm lake next to the camping was very refreshing and nobody else was there, because everybody was cooking or dishwashing 🙂 .
