2022-10-11: Day 11 Karlovy Vary – Podboránky (72km, total 867km)

The first 25km felt like I am on a mountain bike tour. The path conditions were rather bad. Especially with about 20-25kg luggage and a non-existing bike suspension. Most of the time I could only drive about 6km/h because it was so shaking. If I would have been driving faster, my bike probably wouldn‘t have forgiven me. It is a bit special to have a long-distance cycle route (EuroVelo 4), the path is marked as developed, but it feels like biking in the Swiss hills. Again I made today over 1000m height difference. In return the nature along the path was very beautiful. Often the only sound I heard came from birds or moaning roebocks. Yesterday I mentioned that I only saw horses and no cows. Today I saw a lot of cows. And one cat searching protection from the dogs behind my bike 🙂 .

It was also rather difficult to find any hotels (camping places does not exist in the current region or are already closed since end of September). First I asked for a room of Airbnb, but the host family is sick currently. Then I booked a room a few kilometers besides my route. They welcomed me very warmly and I got a big room. Although I am the only guest, I will get some small dinner 🙂 .
